He'll forever have this. OOP will find a way to blame the Steelers defense.

No if it was random we also would have mentioned all The Bulls back up white centers including
    Perdue, Wennington and Longely.

The Phillies could probably submit an entire roster of these guys.
    Bruce Ruffin was another.
Ruffin was the guy they called up when they cut Steve Carlton in June of a season in which they had no chance of catching the Mets. He did well that first season, going 9-4 with a 2.46 ERA and six complete games in 21 starts.
Then he never won more than 11 games in a season again and only finished above .500 once (a 6-5 record with the expansion Rockies in 1993). Wound up playing 12 years in the majors -- six with the Phillies and then six more as mostly a reliever with the Brewers and Rockies. He did have 24 saves as the Rockies' closer in 1996, so maybe he was at least a serviceable reliever. Career record of 60-82, 4.19 ERA in 469 games.
The Carlton thing, though, is what gives him a place in infamy.

Little Nicky Punto was a big thing when he was starting for the Twins. Batgirl would do her Lego recreations and Baseball Primer loved it. Plus, the Red Sox-Dodgers trade in 2012 is referred to as the Nick Punto trade. He might have the most outsized recognition in baseball compared to ability in recent years.

Looking back and seeing that seven of those 10 guys actually played prominent roles for a team that came within a couple of blown saves of winning the World Series is absolutely mind-blowing.
