Jones was only 2 years. Brousard, I think was 1. Hawkins was 1 year at 3 1/2 million. How can that be the worst signing? Jones was a decent risk - maybe he does have something left. Was he deader than Giambe was a few years ago? For a 2 year deal, you take a shot. They have the OFs to cover his suckiness, and of it turns out that the injury was part of the problem, they win.

Jennings was signed by the Rangers in the offseason, not the Astros. He was traded to the Astros in the winter of 2006 and was a disaster for Houston in 2007. He had season-ending elbow surgery last year and signed with the Rangers and just had season-ending elbow surgery again.

It's still got to be Andruw. Giving Castillo 4 years was inexplicable, but they're "only" paying him $6 million a year and even if he's not the player he used to be, at least he's actually contributing something. Andruw's getting $18 mil, superstar money. Even if he improves after the surgery, it would take a miracle for him to ever be worth that.

Update: Four of the first five batters for the Angels have reached so far today against Silva, who already trails 3-0 in the top of the first inning. Maybe he can earn some of that cash by actually making it to the second inning.

    And shockingly he loses again.
