    Andruw Jones by far.

Jones is the worst. Guy used to be a 40-50 HR guy with a great glove in center. Now, he hasn't done anything and he's only in his early 30s.

Gagne at least had a good run in Texas last year before getting nuked in Boston. So you could at least excuse Milwaukee for hoping they got the Texas version instead of the Boston version.

It's too early to make a selection. Jones' struggles aren't anything new. He's showed flashes of fail for the past few seasons. If he figures things out, he might be better than ever. So I reserve judgment until the story plays itself out completely. That said, he has to be the early favorite.

Of course, it depends a lot on whether you're considering how much teams paid. I don't have those numbers in front of me. Jim Edmonds probably didn't get much of a deal, but he certainly has been terrible.

Didn't the Mariners already nuke Wilkerson?
What happened to him? Didn't he hit 30-some home runs before the Expos moved?

Andruw Jones, with Carlos Silva a close second.

At least Jones' deal was only two years, and Gagne's only one.

Silva's contract was four years, $48 million. Think about that for a moment --- he makes as much as Brandon Webb ($5.5M) and Jake Peavy ($6.5M) combined.

I thought it was $44 million. That does make it a bit worse.

My first thought was Silva, but Jones is making $36 million for those two years and he has been even more of a disaster.

Wasn't doubting you, Sneak. Which is why I said "that makes it a bit worse."

I'd change my vote now if I could. Silva's was the worse signing.

Oh, I know. That was just for the record.

Though I don't really see how "only" $1 million a year changes your mind ...

Andruw's contract was considered a bargain at the time; even if he didn't hit, he'd at least play 150 games in center with good defense. No one figured he'd get hurt.

But Silva's deal was universally panned at the time. Not only is he mediocre today, he'll be mediocre in the final year of the contract, when he'll be 32.

The Blue Jays signing five (5) middle infielders.
