Worst lede ever

    We had this guy one time -- definitely not a newbie -- who honestly believed he was God's gift to newspapers. Somehow or another, this guy manages to get assigned covering an MLB team's opening day game. What he sent back in was one of the most unintentionally funny things I've ever read.

    It began like so:

    Who knew the first pitch could mean so much? For Richard Cranium, it meant two homeruns.


    From there, as unbelievable as you might find it, it got worse. I believe it was the third graf that said one team's bullpen "began to become thin on just its first day."

    Sorry if this was mentioned but anything with "worst nightmare" in it is about as bad as it gets.
