I've never liked "The Long and Winding Road." I routinely skip over that tune. Just too schmaltzy - even for Paul.

 

Agreed, but have you heard the "naked" version that was on the anthology or on "Let It Be...Naked?"
With some of that crap stripped away, it's a lot better.

 

I'll check it out Okie, as long as you promise to give some pre-Rubber Soul stuff another chance. My wife likes the mop-top era much more than I do, but I've come to appreciate and enjoy many of the tunes from that era.

Sorry to jack the "worst" thread with a "best" tangent...

 

I actually have all those albums on my iPod, but I admit I'm not as familiar with them as I am the later stuff because I've had the later stuff in CD form for a decade.
I like their early hits OK, but I'll listen some more to the mop-top stuff.
Still, it have never grabbed me like the later stuff.

 

BTW, I'll Follow the Sun is a good tune.

 

Strangely enough, just heard the Paul solo version of Drive My Car on Pandora & liked it alot more than the Beatles one.

 

I absolutely hate "Michelle," which needless to say is one of the only Beatles songs to win a Grammy.
