Didn't know that. I've flown into Hobby but never connected there.

  2. O'Hare.
    Nothing's close.
Plus, when it screws up, about half the country gets screwed up, too.

Dulles is pretty bad. Those moon buggy/people mover things were probably cool in the 60s, but when you're trying to make a connection or tired and just want to get home, it sucks to have to wait for it to fill up before you can get to where you want to go.

Atlanta sucks because of its sheer size. I almost passed out (literally) running from terminal A to terminal E to make an international flight.

Westchester County/White Plains, NY Airport sucks because there are really only two gates and I've had to wait 45 minutes on more than one occasion to be let off the plane b/c they had too many planes at each gate.

    I could go on...

Exactly. And it's a real crappy Bangladesh-like country.

    1. O'Hare (thread title should be changed to 2nd worst airport since this is the hands-down winner)
    2. Dulles (only redeeming quality is the California Torilla stand to keep you fed while you're cancelled and delayed for hours on end)
    3. JFK
    4. McCarren (Vegas, instead of another casino, how bout upgrading the airport?)

Being a midwest type, I'm seeing a lot of hate for O'Hare, but I can honestly say I haven't had too much trouble there. Maybe it's because I go in with low expectations.

Personally, I'm not real high on MSP. There can be some real long treks between connecting gates.

The only entertaining aspect of the Miami airport is strolling by the ticket counters handling check-in for the Latin America flights. The shit people bring as check luggage is hilarious. I saw a guy trying to check a set of tires one time.

That was also the first airport I ever saw the machines you shrink-wrap your luggage with. That was pre-911 so I don't think you can do that anymore.

Does the airport in Pierre still have a gravel parking lot?

Not at the top of the list he, but IAH in Houston was one of the dirtiest airports last week I've ever seen.

Why 2013? Is that when that stupid amendment that prevents Southwest from flying most places out of there expires?

CVG -- Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport gets my vote. Has been raping locals for years with sky-high (get it?) fares. How bad is it? Most local folks, when they need to fly somewhere, drive to either Louisville or Dayton and fly out of there. Delta/Comair has had a virtual monopoly for decades, and taken full advantage of it. Then we locals were supposed to be drowned in tears when they hit the financial skids.

LAX blows. It's like a bus station circa 1984. I think they last updated the place before the Olympics. Baggage claim makes you think you landed in Tijuana and the amenities, should you ever be so screwed as to have to spend a coupla hours there, are damn near nonexistent.

Hartsfield also is a joke ... how about installing a couple of moving walkways? Also, they clean the place at least once a month.

Las Vegas ... yeah, makes you want to spend as little time there as possible, which is probably the point.

Minneapolis has its bad spots, but all in all I guess it could be worse. But if you are looking for some action in the men's bathroom, the company is top notch.

KC ... somebody want to explain this one to me? What's up with that place? Strangest setup I can imagine with security checks outside individual gates.

Best airports: Detroit. Used to be God awful, now its a place I actually don't mind spending a few hours. And I like Cincy. Granted, it's always a layover, but I'll avoid MSP to connect in Cincy if it's available. Salt Lake, Denver, Seattle and Portland are also fine stops.
