    Whatever.

Stardom is about transcending from people in the biz and hardcore fans knowing who you are.

Ask 100 people to give you three Queen songs. Then, ask them about Bad Religion.

Ask them to identify a Brian May riff over a vocal track by Graffin.

"Nobody" was extreme, but I had one word to play with.

The point was... he ain't no star.

Simon. Going to have to go against you on this one.

    Emily Dickinson. Picasso.

Those are two I can think of right away who are artists that were no ones, and then discovered later.

That said, Bad Religon is a good band. Not great. Good.

Hell the best music being written by current bands does not hit the top-40 radio. It's been that way since the late 70s/early 80s.

What part of my post above, specifically, are you going against?

I thought were posting that because Bad Religon isn't recognized by the general public, they must be shit.

That's what I took from it, too.

Graffin is punk rock's Bob Dylan. He and Fat Mike, from NOFX, have revolutionized the genre for the last 26 years. There is not a punk band today who hasn't been inspired by Bad Religion -- I'll guarantee that.

I don't want to thread jack this. Oh hell, sure I do.

Punk rock (which has many different flavors and sounds) was born across the pond.

The Clash - Train in Vain circa 1983ish

    and the fathers

Sex Pistols circa 1978ish God Save That Queen

Some people would say leaving The Velvet Undergound off this list would be wrong

And my personal favorite "punk" band of all time.

And just to show their range

And the same song now has 17 million hits on Youtube.

Sweet Jesus, do I miss listening to The Pixies in the late 80s. Great times.

Guess we might now know where the origins of "Don't Stand So Close To Me" are then.

Don't know what any of this had to do with smart-guy rockers, but I enjoyed it. Thanks for the drive down 80s punk lane. BTW, how do you feel about the Pixies?
