Slovaks started well against the US but penalties killed them. Yanks are fast and skilled, same as Canada, and the Slovaks had trouble with that. Haven't seen the Swiss yet, but there's always one team that throws a scare into the Canucks. Could be them.

With the way the Slovaks played the US I think it will be the Slovaks that will cause team Canada unnecesary problems

Last year during a particularly dark stretch for the Oilers they got crushed 9-2 by Chicago, about a month later they got beat 10-2 by Buffalo where once the Sabres scored their ninth goal, the fans at Rexall started chanting "We want 10! We want 10!"

    Why is Canada wearing Green?

A nod to their green-lovin' Saskatchewan hosts.

Really fast-paced first. Swiss can skate and got a tough break hitting the post shorthanded. Canucks probably spent 80% of the period on the offensive.

And a chance to sell more jerseys.

I thought Hockey Canada was above such commercial greed. ::)

Speaking of Hockey Canada and questionable judgment, how do you like knowing that the author of a recently published Canadian Olympic men's hockey team guide is the wife of Hockey Canada president Bob Nicholson?

Combine that with yet another new Brian McFarlane snoozefest filled with factual errors but lots of "look at me and all the famous people I know" personal anecdotes, it's not a good season for Fenn Publishing's hockey books.

Ha, I got that Lorna Nicholson book for Christmas!

Pretty dominant performance by the Canucks, although they have two sterner tests to come, particularly against the Yanks on NYE. Canuck PP is lethal, teams will take penalties at their own risk.

Fenn is the worst example of hockey book publishing. They take a generic idea and spin it into a mediocre book because 'HOCKEY BOOKS SELL"
