JR's probably right about that. We had a game the same time as the SLC final and this place was deserted. The roads were empty on the way home. Never seen that before.

I agree with you there. I think ELliotte's point was that more teams are in need of a defenceman and they are harder to come by. I suspect Ottawa needs a defenceman more than another scorer at this stage. It would be interesting to see if someone --- perhaps Toronto --- would trade up to get Tavares.

Teams are crazy if they draft for need. You are drafting 18 year old kids, it is very rare that kids come in and have an immediate impact, this is not the NFL. By the time the player is ready to contribute your need could have changed. Draft for talent and trade for need.

That's something you learn very early on when you're covering a hockey draft of any level.
