That was an incredible goal. Amazing hand-eye coordination.

Tavares played a lot of lacrosse and his uncle is considered one of the greatest professional lacrosse players in the world. McGuire was saying earlier on that Tavares's lacrosse background makes him so damn tought to knock off the puck

The goal of the tournament before the tournament begins.

Was watching it. Former Brampton goalie Machesney, now with Hershey of the AHL, in net for Canada. He was a THIRTEENTH round pick in the OHL draft. Most of those kids don't even play in the CHL let along get drafted by an NHL team.

Huggy can tell the story about it if he wants .

    Aren't those uniforms something else?

Always amazing who you find playing in the Spengler. I thought guys like Domichelli had retired years ago. The unis are heinous. Good to hear Paul Romanuk again.

The Spengler's the second oldest hockey tournament in the world after Lord Stanley's.
Romanuk called the WJC for quite a few years, didn't he?

Did Machesny just say he's with Hershey?

I see Micki DuPont is playing. I had no idea he was still playing ... thought he retired. That's going to make this tournament fun to watch.

He was the very last player drafted in the 2000 NHL entry draft. As a defenceman, he led the Blazers in total points in 1999-2000 ... was team captain that year, too.

Great kid. Very personable. Always a good interview. Thoughtful responses.
