Very sloppy stuff from the Americans, but you've got to give the Germans credit for their tenacious forechecking and their ability to get a stick on so many U.S. passes. By the way, realizing this game was on NHL Center Ice was a pretty sweet surprise. Too bad the Canada game's not on here in the States.

Canada getting outshot badly by Sweden ... but it's 1-0 Canada.

Canucks outshot but beat the Swedes 2-0. Cary Price was terrific in net but he was helped by Canada's killer group of veteran D: Staal, Parent, Letang, Bourdon and Russell. Interested in what Mr. Friend O' think of of this group as potentially the best Canada has ever had. I thought Cogliano and Downie weren't bad up front.

Tough test tomorrow against the Yanks. Price will need to be outstanding again.

    Downie kept himself under control--mostly.

Do you think we should start a Spengler Cup thread? :)

I'm plenty dismayed that the tourney isn't shown in the U.S. I logged onto TSN.ca and received a message that said the live streaming coverage of the tournament is only available in Canada.

Geez. that sucks big time. Sorta like when we try to watch games on yahoo.

Seriously, that sucks. Well, maybe they have live streaming on Swedish TV. :)

Typically intense game between Canada and the US. Plenty of big hits from both sides.

Canada up 2-0 after one with Downie and Pyatt scoring for the Canucks. Great PK and defensive play from the Canadians and Price has been sharp. Americans can really wheel.

3-2 Canada, midway through the second.

    Americans better 5-on-5....

In case any of you Center Ice subscribers in the U.S. didn't know: This U.S.-Canada game is available to you.

    Thanks, Huggy.

Pretty good pace to what I've seen thus far.
