Okay, this is insane. Including today's contest, I've now cover five consecutive games that have gone into overtime. No other games between. Five consecutive days of covering games, all of which went into overtime!

Anyone else have a quirky streak like this on the go or in their past?

The only soccer game I've covered in the past two years went into double overtime. Does that count?

Had a streak of three straight games with buzzer-beaters to win 'em, about five years ago in prep hoops. Crazy, crazy.

Had another streak in prep baseball my first couple years in the biz, where the low-seeded teams I got "stuck" covering in the state playoffs -- our experienced writers stayed home to cover the good teams -- upset the hell out of everybody they played and made it to the semis.

Doesn't every soccer game go into overtime?

I had a streak this year of every basketball game I covered was lousy.

And that was just half your day. Mine went double OT and then to a shootout.

There is no such thing as double overtime in soccer, if they're following NFHS rules.

You play two overtime periods, yes, but it's either a silver goal, golden goal, or you're playing both. If the score is still tied, you're doing PKs. Either way, OT is scheduled for two periods, regardless.

I went on back-to-back mornings to IHOP and they were out of Egg Beaters.
