Words that just aren't used enough in (sports)writing

    i tried banning him once, and he just called me a dick.

    Yesterday, a columnist in my local paper used "prowess" in making fun of a certain politician and his running abilities. His use in the context of the column likely does not provide support for the use of the word in serious sports writing.

    I heard a guy in an NPR story describe someone as a "rascal." Another good word.
