    Hmm. Not original, but I will go with: verbose, jocose, morose, lachrymose, bellicose or comatose. Take your pick. All can be applied to a drunk. ... or an athlete. ... or anyone, really!

    Also, this is not one used by sportswriters but used toward them ... But it tickles me when I hear older people refer to "writeups" of the game instead of articles or stories.
