He treats incumbents VERY well, even after publication date. It's
after they're out of office that he belatedly recycles some of the dirtiest
    dirt.

    Glad to clarify.

Has anybody here ever met Woodward?

Somebody who used to work with him described him to me as "The biggest asshole in journalism"

I've met Bernstein at a book signing. Could not have been nicer. Come to think of it, I think that was the last time I got someone's autograph.

The 180 he did on Bush after the public went sour on Iraq was pretty hilarious -- he was criticizing the process that led to the invasion, the same process he described as a marvel of clear thinking done by heroes in his first two books.

I thought Laurence Harvey was dead.

Lord knows he was not the only person to do a 180 on W.

  7. I was sure that was going to fly over most people's head. Nice catch.

Seems like McChrystal was fired for less that statements that I've seen attributed to some in Woodward book.

Yeah, but you can't fire the VP.

WH spin is that he meant it in a good way.

In answer to thread question, ego.

Even today, in the White House echo chamber, many think the book makes Obama look good. Perhaps it does, I dunno.
