Could someone offer a coherent reason why every game is played on artificial turf? Who are the ad wizards who came up with this one?

13 NFL stadiums have grass and they will get less use in 1 season than WC games on turf.

Not a turf fan, but it's all money. My county has 12 public High Schools and 1 private school. They all have turf. They put the turf in the public schools over a period of time. 1 or 2 a year, the last being done this summer. The private school finally put one in 2 years ago. Our rec department has put in about 6-8 turf fields in over the past 12 years, mainly due to the number of youth lacrosse and soccer leagues. Its cheaper over the life of the field and games don't get called off in bad weather.

Canada has shitty weather many months of the year. The turf is a more durable product for those stadiums.

The players launched a lawsuit about the turf iirc.

I find it embarrassing that the stadiums don't have real grass.
