Panetta lifts the ban. I think it's the right move and anyone who wants to serve in combat should be able to do so.

But some dude might be smelly and dirty when he has to strip in front of them in the desert. And they might have underarm hair or something that they couldn't shave. Or maybe some man would be FORCED to watch some woman squat and pee.

Does this now makes the male-only Selective Service registration unconstitutional? Do women, upon turning 18, now have to register with the Selective Service?

No, but women may be required to register like men.

 

Women already were in combat long before this. This just allows women to move more quickly up the ranks, which is about damned time.
