Woke NBA groveling for China

Maybe I'm too hard on Nichols, but, hey, she's a bright person. Did it ever occur to her that when she came China last time in LeBron motorcade, all those fawning fans were there with the tacit approval and encouragement of the government? And now, with cranes taking down the banners, that, too, is being done at the direction of the government?

When she's busy comparing a bathroom bill to civil rights sit-ins, she's aware that China's forced abortion left the nation without millions of women, left millions of men with no one to be with - the women would have to be mass polygamists just to come close to continuing family lines - that families left their children to work in factories, etc, etc.

There's a difference between doing business with a nation and hoping (even naively) that you're exporting freedom in that process, and being a celebrity basketball player or journalist who's used to make killers look friendly.

The NBA should pack up shop right now in China and head home with perhaps a shred of dignity left. Nobody is going to be left starving if the NBA doesn't have chinese money. So Harden doesn't get his fifth Lambo.

And the 600 million chinese people can embrace the Australian Basketball league.
