Will this happen at a newspaper down the line?

Intern working at one of the Twin Cities TV stations gets fired after two months on the job... well, you'll have to see what the hell she did and wonder why this hasn't happened yet at a paper.

"just lost it" is one of those things I would've loved to have seen.

Either that or some other producer is going to like her fighting spirit and bring her aboard.

I'm sure it has happened at newspapers. It happens everywhere. There's a reason most places have the harsh and usually ludicrous policy of making you clean out your desk immediately while a couple of HR people stand a foot away. One of my favorite firing stories came from a buddy. At the factory he worked at, a guy we graduated with got canned from some job on the line. Security escorted him out. He managed to sneak back in and commandeer the PA system that went factory-wide, ala Andy in Shawshank. But instead of playing classical music, John, yelled, "FUCK SMITH PRINTING! FUCK SMITH PRINTING! FUCK SMITH PRINTING!"

Security guards held him, police were called, but I don't think he got charged for anything.

  7. Hey, her name's MENSAH, not MENSA.

Just not very smart, even if we've all had the fantasy of laying out a supervisor.

I know of an LA Times sports writer who punched an editor in a hallway over some assignment work he didn't care for. He was in a difficult personal situation at the time but was gone pronto. I believe he's still in the business somewhere.

just from reading the story it seems like this is a very specific case of an unqualified idiot who demonstrated said lack of qualification in the way she handled her exit, and this story doesn't actually have much to do with the sort of pent-up anger that a veteran in the business might want to vent on being terminated because his paper's ownership is tragically short-sighted.

but then again, i don't know much about her—not even where she's from

I think if the girl had let her boss know where she was from, and maybe flashed a knife once in a while, she would have lasted her whole internship.

At least that's how I did it.
