Will COVID-19 be the needle that finally bursts the sports bubble?

So what are the odds even college football can complete a spring football season. So weird you have the AAFL, the XFL and now the NCAA attempting to play in Spring. But hey we're watching hockey and hoops in August and I have friends eager to start decorating for Halloween and/or Christmas. the calendar is just a bunch of numbers and lines.

 

If that really would have worked, sure.
I do wonder if another month of lockdown would have done it by itself. It would have needed to be followed by gradual re-opening. Very slooow re-opening. The pent-up energy factor would have been huge.

 

Massachusetts declares high school football a high virus risk. Only flag football seven on seven allowed.

Why do they hate sports???

 

Sounds like they want to continue that trend.

 

I can see the email now: "Johnny led the team in flags pulled last night and you didn't write it up. We're trying to get him a scholarship ..."

 

My answer would be, "Lady, the spell check in our content management system doesn't alert us when the L is left out of the word "flag" so we've decided not to upset the non-binary community by accidentally posting any related stories. Let us know when your kid plays a sport that won't get us sued."
