One homeowner is probably not in love with the Oscar Mayer wiener.

The famed hot dog's iconic Wienermobile crashed Friday into the deck and garage of a home in Mount Pleasant when the driver tried to turn the giant hot dog on wheels around in the driveway, police said.

The 22-year-old driver thought she was moving in reverse but went forward and crashed into the home, Mount Pleasant Police Chief Tim Zarzecki said. No one was home. The driver and her passenger were uninjured. The home and vehicle sustained moderate damage, Zarzecki said. No citations were immediately issued.

Oscar Mayer spokeswoman Sydney Lindner apologized for any inconvenience to the homeowner and said insurance would cover the damage. The company has six Wienermobiles nationwide, she said.

Someone took the phrase "hot dog down a hallway" literally.

I wonder how the homeowner's call to the insurance company went?

Homeowner: "Yes, I'd like to make a claim."

Insurance guy: "Very well, what happened?"

Homeowner: "A wiener crashed into my garage."

I think it was the wienermobile's insurance which would cover it, Baron. But your post was well played.

The call to the insurance company for the wienermobile might be interesting.

"OK, let me check the conditions... wienermobile crashing into a garage... I don't see anything specific. I see the mustard damage rider and protection about the hot dog slipping out of the bun language. Maybe this would be covered by directional malfunction claim."

I can't imagine what it was like for the driver as she was waiting for the owners of the house to come home. The expression on their faces as they turned into their driveway was probably priceless.

I was thinking that the homeowner would have to contact their insurance anyways, if only to notify them.

And I could see this phone call happen:

Homeowner: "My house was just penetrated by a wiener."

Insurance company: "Would you like fries with that?"

You think that's the only wiener that's wrecked a home? Pshaw ...

As with commercial blimps, there's more than one Weinermobile.

As we left Santa Rosa Island on Thursday, one was parked at the boardwalk. I checked it out ... a much nicer ride than the old-school WBs.

As you can tell from the foto, it's a big damned rig based on a Chevy SUV/Truck chassis.

See, it's funny because the weinermobile looks like a giant penis.
