long-forgotten stuff like this only reminds me why things were so good in the '80s and pretty much everything sucks today.

Not to mention the 80s teen stars had more musical talent than today's teen stars...

and you cannot imagine Britney Spears or Christine Aguilera pulling this off:

I also can't imagine Britney or Christine doing Broadway successfully:

I love 80s music, but TP, bless ya', you sound like my first ex-wife, who was a 1970s babe and felt all other music was incredibly inferior and I was a tool for listening to it.

Some of today's alternative rock stuff is pretty damn good.

I'll take 80s pop music over today's pop music.

But I'll take most of today's alt-country/Americana (or whatever the hell you want to call it) scene over most 80s music.

    Really?

    Culture Club
    Kajagoogoo
    Spandau Ballet
    Bananarama
    Human League
    Survivor
    Frankie Goes to Hollywood
    Dead or Alive
    Billy Ocean
    Falco

All had #1 hits in the '80s. You've got a real A-list right there, oh boy!!

I'll take that list over the likes of Justin Timberlake, Gwen Sefani, Ludacris, Nelly Furtado, Beyonce, Diddy, Fat Joe, R Kelly, Britney Spears, Christine Aguilera, Hillary Duff, Fergie, and Snoop Dog anytime.

Shouldn't the sarcasm font be on for this song?

I've seen a million faces -- and I rocked 'em all away!

Thank you, my thoughts exactly. I would agree with Tom Petty if he were talking about hip-hop specifically, because that genre has taken a serious nove dive in my books, but there's plenty of great music elsewhere.

Of course not. Debbie is actually singing, not lip synching.
