Why would anyone write, or say, that Favre has finally "retired for good?"

If there's an NFL team even contemplating -- contemplating! -- signing Favre, then I hope the NFLPA does us all a huge favor and votes to turn down the CBA.

In fairness to the forever churning ESPN rumor mill, a radio station was reporting it as well.

Why would Favre go anywhere where he wouldn't be a starter. Makes zero sense, if you've paid any attention to his career. ...

And by the way, even if this is legit, please, please, please, stop using the words "return to the NFL" in any story or headline. HE NEVER LEFT. Even if he retired, just like the previous times, he only retired in the offseason. Until he's not on a roster on the first day of the regular season, he never left.

I have a better chance of getting head from Olivia Wilde in the next 20 minutes than Favre does of signing with the Eagles. #justsayin'

Just keep laughing and yukking it up that he's done and it's all nonsense. The sumbitch just keeps making us look like fools by throwing yet another retirement party for him.

As a backup, Favre would be a nice addition to a team. Pegging him as your guy for 16 games is insane.

As a backup he would be a horrible addition to your team as he would be the ultimate locker room cancer and do everything in his power to undermine the starter and create a movement among fans to push for him to be the starter.

He is incapable of being a backup and doing it without making it all about him even though he is not playing.

If the Eagles did this it would be one of the worst moves in NFL history
