I think that, especially in times of economic and political uncertainty, folks' tastes often tend toward the classic and the solid blocky lines, softened by the occasional more-rounded arch, creates a sense of security and stability without being oppressively over-bearing.

 

Again, he wasn't fired. He hasn't been blacklisted by anyone except the Poynter Institute. And he hasn't worked for a newspaper since 1999, according to his biography, and I highly doubt he's looking to get back into newspapers since he's made a living in bloggery for the past 12 years or so.

So what exactly is your point, doodah? (Besides showcasing your ignorance of the situation, I mean.)
