Has anyone ever done a study to back up those numbers?

Has anyone ever done a study to see how many of those journo grads are broadcast vs. print?

I don't really go out seeking this information, but I've never even heard of any journalism unions. And it's hard to organize a strike without a union.

Especially if you're a writer. Most shops, big, little, shitty or great, get resumes in the triple digits. Ask for anything more than a stick of gum, and they'll wave bon voyage as the next crop of resumes comes rolling in.

Wasn't the big problem for the Guild in Detroit was that reporters were coming in from other papers in the chain to work?

I'm pro-union but I understand if someone has a family to support and a mortgage to pay. I draw the line at someone flying across two time zones to cross a picket line.

In Youngstown, they were flying in scabs from New Orleans.
