Why no mention of this Steelers' story?

According to an anonymous source, Harrison's real reason for not going is a fear of flying. Apparently, he manages to deal with it for team flights, but didn't want to put himself through that for the White House trip.

He also skipped the trip four years ago, though he was a backup at the time.

I guess this makes a little more sense now.

You only cover us when we won't get on planes.

Yo James, pull up Mapquest and you'll quickly see you could drive from Pittsburgh to D.C. in three and a half hours.

I've done that drive. Kinda boring. :)

  4. Maybe he was joking, maybe he wasn't. But it wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't. Having been around enough pro and college athletes, everything is a dis'. Everything. "Us against the world." So it is definitely not outside the realm of possibility that a professional football player would concoct, in his head, the idea that the president of the United States is a front-runner.

Oh, and as far as white thugs: Bill Laimbeer. And I also hear it applied plenty to hockey goons. A big reason it's become a euphemism for "black" is because hip-hop artists have sort of decided to own it.

Doesn't Sean Avery qualify in the thug category, too?

He is far from a thug. Pussy, Primadonna, Douche Bag all these apply, but far from a thug.

If you've seen the tape, it's fairly obvious he's joking.
That's the problem with AP: nobody there has a sense of humor.

  10. Apparently, that's the problem at a lot of places, including ESPN, and here.

Speaking of sense of humor, I really wasn't sure where to put this.

Why would anybody want to steal Najeh Davenport's car? You don't know what he has done in that car and you probably don't want to.

And a 1970 Impala? Interesting choice of vehicle there, Deuce.

  12. What a crappy car.
