    Not just at younger ages, Boom, but in general there are a lot more girls playing competitive sports period.

    that's true also. All of which increase the odds of girls tearing an ACL

    I have a 9 year old niece that plays travel soccer and hockey - sometimes seasons overlap and she has to do both . I think it is too much .

    This is a nice explanation why women are at increased risk of ACL tears. It has to do with Q angles and intercondylar notch space differences. At its root, orthopedics is all about carpentry and architectural design.
