Hate to burst your bubble. Whitlock beat you to it in his Fox Sports column earlier this week.

    Next question.

    You mean like this?
"Here is the core problem for the Eagles, and for Andy Reid: Reid is acting — calling plays, conducting the offense — as if Donovan McNabb is still his best player. And Donovan McNabb isn't the Eagles' best offensive player. Not anymore."
    http://www.phillyburbs.com/pb-dyn/news/256-09182007-1409356.html

    Or this?
"Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid must bear full responsibility for the Birds and Washington Redskins not entering Monday night's NFC East matchup at Lincoln Financial Field with identical 1-0 records."
    http://www.nj.com/columns/expresstimes/laubach/index.ssf?/base/columns-0/1189915972215160.xml&coll=2

    Or this?
"Others suggest that the wide receivers are to blame for the lack of touchdowns and big plays. An offense that used to routinely burn opposing secondaries for long gains has not done it this season. Only two of McNabb's 43 completions, a 37-yarder to Curtis and a 31-yarder to Avant against the Packers, have been for more than 20 yards. The longest gain against the Redskins was McNabb's 19-yard completion to Brown in the fourth quarter.
Most often, McNabb has dumped the ball off short, maybe because his wideouts have not been getting open."

Or how, in this preview - http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/20070921_Eagles_about_to_face_different_Lions_team.html
    McNabb is mentioned just once?
Or how on WIP, the Eagles' failure to resign Stallworth or Garcia gets about equal play?

The media is concentrating on Donovan because that HBO interview came out at the completely wrong time for McNabb. A perfect storm of the Eagles', and yes, his, crappy play, and those select comments.

    Sportsbruh, you ignorant slut.

Philly's problems stem from one person, Andy Reid. He believes that his system is so good that he can basically plug any person in a slot and it will work. However, what he fails to realize that he's using inferior talent to shore up needs. Terrell Owens should be there. An argument could be made about Trotter as well.
Reid's stubborness, in my opinion, is hurting the team. However, his boss, Jeff Laurie likes what he's doing and in the end, that's all that truly matters.

We'll see how the PHilly fans takes this.

Bottom line. Donovan should not be playing.

Donovan can still play. He's still the best quarterback on the roster. However, he's at best 70 percent healthy. While his arm strength is sound, his legs aren't and that's what everyone is noticing. He will have his moments on Sunday against Detroit, but to be honest, the team really isn't that good this year.
At least so far, they haven't played competively.
