Why Don't More Women Report Rape?

    Can't stand the "imagine it was your (insert female relative here)" mentality.

    I don't need to imagine it's one of my family members to be bothered by it. It's a heinous act against a woman. That's enough for me to empathize.

    Seriously, were the cops pissed because they think the woman wasted their time? So they spent more time to coerce a conviction out of her?

    I mean, they actually had a serious discussion with her trying to convince her she fell asleep and dreamed the whole thing.

    I'll go out on a limb and say maybe empathy isn't one of their strong points.

    I guess the question is, does anything get fixed by this travesty? Or does the outrage die down after a few weeks and this police force continues with business as usual?
