Why Don't More Women Report Rape?

Imagine if that was your mom/sister/daughter.

 

Can't stand the "imagine it was your (insert female relative here)" mentality.

I don't need to imagine it's one of my family members to be bothered by it. It's a heinous act against a woman. That's enough for me to empathize.

The Marshall Report story is incredible journalism. Very, very well done.

 

Geez. The rapist comes off as more sympathic than cops.

 

Yeah, but one of them "expressed regret." What more do you want?

 

Seriously, were the cops pissed because they think the woman wasted their time? So they spent more time to coerce a conviction out of her?

 

End well, this won't.

 

I mean, they actually had a serious discussion with her trying to convince her she fell asleep and dreamed the whole thing.

I'll go out on a limb and say maybe empathy isn't one of their strong points.

 

I guess the question is, does anything get fixed by this travesty? Or does the outrage die down after a few weeks and this police force continues with business as usual?
