Why do we still celebrate Labor Day?

4-day. The management monkey-monks take Friday off, too.

Just as I figured, I saw absolutely zero signs of life on the way in this morning - not another single car, nobody running, not even a dog out for his morning relief.

Some days I hate this job.

Well, one of my teams won.

I shut the Western Classic off at half time

    Coach Hall after the game:

"Didn't come to compete," he said. "Couldn't even execute the fundamentals of football. Couldn't block. Couldn't catch. Couldn't throw. Couldn't tackle. Couldn't cover. There's nothing more

    Embarrassingly bad.

I'm always up for Gilded Age Day, Bootlickers Day, or Swoon-To-The-Thought-Of-Dick-Cheney-Leaving-10%-Tips-To Waiters Day. Who could
    ask for anything more?

I have no problem exchanging Labor Day for Steak and BJ Day as a national holiday.

Because I was born on Labor Day. Duh ...

(The first sentence is true, but hopefully the blue font spares the board the self-importance ... )

Because without the sacrifices of organized labor there would be no weekend, no paid lunch breaks, no prohibition on child labor, etc. Organized labor has not been entirely clean but I'd hate to think where our society would be without its history.

That's most goddamn goals I've ever seen in hockey.

Well, except for the Oilers, which is to be expected.
