Why did the feds not interview Clemens?

How is offering Bonds immunity going after him? And if they do go after Clemens, they better offer him immunity from prosecution, just like Barry got.

Will Roger Clemens end up as toast? Has he possibly dug his
own grave? Could subpoena power cause him to change his
    story?

"Clemens needs to go in front of Congress next month and repeat, under oath, the exact words his agent Randy Hendricks released Tuesday under the seven-time Cy Young Award winner's name. Otherwise, he's toast."

Will Clemens possibly embarrass the feds into a game of chicken?
What should the feds do now? Should Clemens get a pass from
the government? Should they attempt to flush out the truth?
After their major effort and expense in going after Bonds, should they not go after Clemens as well? It will be interesting to see what they do.

"The question is whether federal investigators would want to interview Clemens or interview McNamee again because their statements are in opposition.

Tony West, a former assistant United States attorney and now a defense lawyer in San Francisco, said in a telephone interview: “If for some reason they thought McNamee was not telling the truth, they could go after him. They could bring people before a grand jury and have them testify under oath.”

He added: “Any federal law-enforcement investigator could go and talk to Clemens, and even though they are not under oath, it is a crime to lie to a federal law-enforcement officer. But whether they could do it, and whether they should do it, are two different questions."

Will Andy Pettite find true love? Will Joba Chamberlin reveal his terrible secret? What is A-Rod hiding in his locker?

All this, on the next As The Yankees Turn.

It seems possible that there is more evidence against Clemens that may have been held back by Mitchell. There could be an ace in the hole that will be used at some point against Clemens. This dance may not be over yet, but at least we know this much. Somebody is a liar.

    Meaningless conjecture.

Bonds must be feeling neglected at the moment. Ya think Clemens might just punk the feds before this is all over?

"Uh, Roger, Mitchell report got your tongue?"

"Brian McNamee has spoken. When will you?"

Looks like a 'Clemens goes to Congress' chapter may just be in the works.

Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte may get call from Congress
    BY MICHAEL O'KEEFFE
NEW YOIK DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER

    Tuesday, December 18th 2007, 4:00 AM

Two hearings have been scheduled for January, but additional hearings may also be held. Former Sen. George Mitchell, who conducted the 21-month investigation, is expected to appear at the two already-scheduled hearings. So are representatives from Major League Baseball and its Players Association.

Witness lists have not been finalized, but one lawyer familiar with the report said the hearings would be superficial if players or Kirk Radomski and Brian McNamee, who Mitchell says supplied steroids to athletes, were not invited.

"I would if I were Congress," said the lawyer, who requested anonymity.

Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) have scheduled a news conference in Washington for this morning to announce proposed legislation they say would reduce access to performance-enhancing drugs and stiffen penalties for their improper use and distribution.

The Clemens debate is starting to heat up.

    Roger Clemens As Coward

    By Andre W. Stephens

I’ve always thought of Roger Clemens as a jerk. He never hesitates to throw at a guy, yet has spent most of his career in the American League, where pitchers don’t bat. Broadcasters spoke of him as being a tough guy; I always thought of him as a coward.

Will the media make sure that Clemens and other players named in the Mitchell Report suffer the harsh scrutiny and name-calling that Bonds has endured? I doubt it. They already have their man.
