I was about to say you couldn't find them in the medal count because there's no snow in Beijing this time of year. But apparently they suck in the snow as well.

I posted this over at the regular Olympics thread but this headline in a Toronto Star story made me laugh.

"Canadian swimmer briefly holds Olympic record"

    Here's the story:

    I'ts Onion-worthy.

That makes a lot of sense. Heck, there are probably a good number of high school swimming programs that do a better job of olympic training than some countries.

    Mr Hondo,

    Medal counts from Torino 2006

    United States 9 9 7 (25)
    Canada 7 10 7 24 (24)

Yup, Canada sux in the Winter Games if it can't win as medals as the US. Even if it's one less.

    YD&OHS, etc

Well, they sucked in the snow 20 years ago in Calgary. They'll surely be better in Vancouver, but there will be a ton of pressure on them there until someone breaks through and wins on home ice/snow.

Well, we know we'll win Gold in women's and men's hockey in Vancouver so there you go.

Canada wastes too much money putting extra letters in words to have any left over for Olympic athletes.

I watched Dylan Armstrong place fourth in shot put this morning. It made my summer.

He will medal four years from now in London. Bet on it.
