I wouldn't say that they lied. However, they willfully downplayed information that was counter what they wanted everyone to hear and They also put together an incredibly shitty military strategy by downplaying what they didn’t want to hear.

That is your opinion. And you are certainly entitled to have it, but the burden of proof is in your court.

*Please don't call me Gunny* Sorry, peeve of mine (on a fucking message board. can you believe that?).

Anyhoo, I think there's a definite line between blind stupidity, stubbornness and lying.

Lo siento, TBF. I just cannot believe he is that stupid, though.

I will say, though, that I feel no ill will to the men and women over there. I just think they are in a bad situation that is not of their own doing.

Thanksfully, I think most of America feels this way as well.

You're right. The truth is somewhere in the middle.

I'm sure very few do feel ill will toward the warfighters. And I'm thankful for that.

I do, however, remember one fellow (a literature prof, I think) who came to our office on campus and began cursing our secretary (who worked for the school, not the Army) for the "lies we told" to start the war.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas, man.

Introduced, unpassed legislation doesn't mean a hill of beans.

I would think even a civilian Army secretary could take a literature professor.
