Why Are People Posting Political Threads?

Alas, to turn the old '60s saying on its head, on this board, the political is personal.

 

It'd be nice if we could at least talk about the news & the results.

No need to debate policy. No need for it to turn ugly.

If previous threads are a guide, the Mods seem willing to turn a blind eye to threads that don't break down.

It's be nice if everyone tried keep them from doing that.

Here's an idea: To avoid all the anonymous cowards ruining political threads, if you start/post on a political thread, you have to do so under your real name. Separate accounts for political threads. I'm on board. What say you, ACs?

Here's a better idea: Follow the rules or GTFO (no need for pics). Or, you could just call a lawyer [/crossthread]
