Why are all suitcases black? (AKA running SC flies East thread)

    I had to buy a new (i.e. bigger!) suitcase for my vacation this week, and I swear every flipping one was black. No red, no pink, but there was a fugly green.

    All that black makes it next to impossible to figure out which suitcase is yours at baggage claim. My plea to suitcase manufacturers is to please start making big suitcases in different colors, like maybe that fuschia that my carry-on is.

    This will also serve as a running SC goes East thread.

    I did buy a hot pink luggage tag though.

    The glitter shirt's in there doc, but it's wrapped in plastic so I don't have glitter everywhere till I get there.

    And W-B, I'd love to match my luggage to my traveling shoes.

    I assume you live where there is a Samsonite outlet store. There are no such things in Montana.

    Wifey bought me two suitcases at TJ Maxx for my birthday, I returned one and was pretty impressed at the range of colors. Lotsa options besides black.

    On an aside, does any airport check your claim numbers anymore when you leave to make sure you're not swiping someone else's luggage? I remember always being held up in the ATL by the guy who would make sure your numbers matched. But haven't seen that in years. Seems to me that petty thieves with a clothes fetish could score dozens of bags every day from any airport in the country.
