Whose death would cause the greatest stir?

    If the age cut off is 80 I would have to say it would be Warren Buffet.

    I wanted to eliminate the too-soon crowd because, obviously, the unexpectedness of the death would create more stir than just about anyone listed on this thread.

    When Clinton goes, the societal sorrow will be massive. He's only 65, though.

    I thought you specified "or in poor health." Clinton's heart surgery would seem to qualify.

    I might actually go with Mandela's, because his death could affect an entire country's future. He remains a unifying figure in a country where there's still so much division. There are always rumors about the battles people will believe will erupt when he dies, rumors that come from the fringe racists and even from more straight-thinking people. The people mentioned here on the thread will be missed for what they did, but Mandela's death could also influence the future.
