He was drying out for about two years in between basketball seasons.

Wondrous point guard, but he's BeerBoy for a reason ...

Carlos Huerta was kicking for Miami for a decade, minimum. Stan White was at Auburn forever too.

hejira: Dusty Bonner ended up at Valdosta State for at least 12 years.
There's a guy at North Alabama who has been around forever -- I think his name is Wallace Steele or something like that. But Division II shouldn't count -- you can play forever in that league.

Jamal Meeks played on every NCAA title-winning Indiana team coached by Bob Knight.

I'm pretty sure Illinois' Dee Brown was the same Dee Brown who won the NBA dunk contest with the Boston Celtics. He's AARP-eligible in 2008.

Seriously right? Who knew Dee Brown was so talented?

    - Reebok Pump pitchman/'91 Dunk champ
    - Syracuse tailback from '97-'00
    - Kansas City Royal from a few years ago
    - Point guard for the No. 1 ranked Illinois hoops team

Cal had a basketball player named Al Grigsby who came in a freshman in 1991, the year before Jason Kidd arrived at Berkeley.

Vis-a-vis bad luck, medical redshirts, etc. he ends up staying with the Bears until 1997 - Kidd's third year in the NBA

My Major Ogilvie is Major Ogilvie.

Played at Alabama 16 years, rushing for 14,753 yards and playing on seven national championship teams.

By the time he was done at Alambama, he was too old for the NFL to draft him.
