Other than the Owen Wilson mention, a pretty good post.

He's my pick, though he might be done working. His only credits in the past couple years are voice-overs like Cars. But heck, he was good in that too.

    Men
    1. Daniel Day-Lewis - Hard to put him on top when he's made about six films in the last two decades, but he's always on and he never misses.
    2. Edward Norton - Hell, the guy got an Oscar nomination for his first film role. Between Primal Fear, Rounders, Fight Club, 25th Hour, the guy is amazing.
    3. Russell Crowe - Who can pull off Gladiator, The Insider and Beautiful Mind?
    4. Leonardo DiCaprio - Gilbert Grape, the Aviator, the Departed.
    5. Brad Pitt - Fight Club, Interview with a Vampire, 12 Monkeys.

    Women
    1. Meryl Streep - Probably the best actress ever.
    2. Kate Winslet - She's always amazing.
    3. Cate Blanchett - Incredible in Aviator and the Dylan flick.
    4. Jodie Foster - Inside Man, Silence of the Lambs, Accused, Panic Room.
    5. Reese Witherspoon - Can pull off comedy and drama.

Yeah, but do you three own the movie, as I do?

I was gonna ask where was the love for Spacey, in a purely critical nonemotional way.

Nick Cage has made his share of stinkers, but he's had a bunch of great roles, too.

Christian Bale, Kevin Spacey, Edward Norton, Matt Damon, Leo DiCaprio make up my list.

Male: Brad Pitt, Matthew McConaughey, Jack Black, Seth Rogen (fuckin' brilliant in Knocked Up)

Female: Ellen Page, Rachel McAdams, Kate Hudson, Tara Reid (should have gotten an Oscar nom for American Pie - not saying she should have won.)

you're either kidding, or too many years of man-love for Zach have destroyed whatever brain matter you have.
In a thread about great actors, you endorse Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey, via his performance in The Majestic?
    Real discriminatin', ain't ya.
