Just remember that last time around, everyone was convinced it was Wannstedt. He was red-hot, and he was a Pittsburgh guy.
    Nobody knew jack about Cowher.
The Rooneys seem to know what they're doing.

Wannstedt, if he has a strong GM, can win in the NFL.

Hey now, we don't threadjack EVERY football thread ... just 75 percent of them.

Ken Whisenhunt would make sense, but I like the Tony Dungy idea. Defensive coach goes back to his defensive roots for his old team. I would love that.

And that's showing remarkable restraint on our parts. ;D

If they could realistically get him, I'd agree. But I get the impression Floyd Reese stepping down as the Titans' GM today put Fisher in a position similar to the one Cowher had when he stayed with the Steelers and Tom Donahoe left. Push came to shove and the owner backed the coach.

That's just an educated guess, but I think Reese's departure makes it even more unlikely that Fisher goes anywhere.

And didn't the Titans just extend Fisher's contract?

I think they should hire Chris Petersen since everyone was acting like he was God on Monday and Tuesday.

I thought they just took the team option for next year and that's all he has.

Their Week One opponent of the preseason, of course.

I've heard Ferenz is the Rooneys' top candidate.

Ferentz might be the man for the job. At the very least, the Hawkeyes' uniforms have always looked good to me. ;)

Dungy's under contract in Indy through 2009.
