Who will be the Republican VP nominee?

After what happened in 2008 and because of the public's lukewarm perception of him, Romney needs to hit a home run with the VP pick.

I think the only home runs would be Christie, Rubio and Ryan. It could be sold as this is the next 12-16 years of our future, and those who like any of those three guys better than Romney (a lot) would get behind the ticket.

Getting any of those guys to agree will be tough.

    Winston Wolf couldn't fix that.

Unpossible. They could have 12 lanes going both ways on 66 and it would still be a Mongolian Cluster-Fuck of epic proportions.

P.S.: A hearty congrats to Janet Howell. Lots of pols talk the talk when it comes to "sticking it up the asses" of their opponents. She actually walked the walk. Good for her.

Kasich would be a Dick Cheney sort of pick — in both the advantageous and problematic ways Cheney served Bush.

He'd be a rock star on the campaign trail and the convention, but the debates would be interesting to see.

Kasich is so very Nixonian in the way he physically carries himself, in wardrobe and in his bluntness.

On a 65-inch flatscreen going against Biden in a debate, I could see that turning out badly. Not that either one is of much substance, but Biden is vapid in a charming sort of way.

Kasich's name comes up a lot, but unless he can deliver Ohio, I'd be surprised if he was the choice.

ABC News, owned by Disney, a right-wing multibillion-dollar corporation. You betcha.

Rupert, Roger and The Brothers know this stuff gets a little monotonous when they pump it out on The Flagship day after day after day, so they just pick up the DingBat-Phone and farm it out to their subsidiaries (ABC, NBC, CBS and their print division, AP).

What part of "conspiracy" is that hard to understand?

Right, ABC cooked the books on a poll regarding a Midwest governor. Right.

Kasich can't deliver Ohio. Even a lot of the Republicans there don't like him.

So, Republicans in Ohio would vote against the Republican nominee for President if Kasich was the VP nominee?

Even if they don't like him, sending him back to Washington would be the best way to get him out of the Gubernatorial Mansion.

I think even if Romney/Kasich got every Republican vote in Ohio, it wouldn't be enough to take the state. He's gonna have to get some Independents if he wants to win it.

Benson v. Quayle proved forever that VP debates don't move the needle.

Well, Dukakis ran such an historically terrible campaign that nothing short of Dan Quayle snapping the neck of a puppy on-stage was going to "move the needle" in that election.
