That duo from Once, backed with 50 megatons of confetti cannons and fronted by 200 dancers.

Never would have been allowed to take the NFL stage. Had that case of teh gays. Same with Elton John. The red staters would change the channel. Can't have that.

Of course, Pete's got that kiddie porn thing hanging over his head, so what the fuck do I know?

Can't believe Bon Jovi and Billy Joel still haven't performed at halftime. Bon Jovi, in particular, with the new CD and the stadium tour coming up, would seem to be a perfect candidate. Maybe he didn't want to follow Bruce.

Why not Creedence Clearwater Revisited or The New Doors?

There's some bunch of lounge singers going around calling themselves "The Beach Boys," too.

Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis are still playing dates.

Or Queen with Paul Rodgers. Or the New Cars.

    Metallica could handle it.

I'd throw No Doubt in the mix too (although they did it before). Green Day has been a part of NFL productions before and probably could pull it off. Foo Fighters could work.

KISS probably is on a short list, but that would likely be painful to watch at this stage in their careers.

Why Not Richie Havens or Country Joe although I would prefer to see Ace Freeley and the Boys or AC/ DC . Hells Bells is almost the NFL anthem.

The set the Who did at the Concert for New York after 9/11 blew me away. You can find it on YouTube if you haven't seen it.

They'll never be able to match the circumstances of that show, but if they can do a set that's anything close to it, it'll be worth watching.

    God let's hope not.

I always saw that as their last great moment...their For Love Of The Game moment, if you will. They don't even get along anymore (not that that's ever stopped anyone from making good music). Just seems, from the outside looking in, that they're going thru the motions and cashing a check. Can't see them putting together a memorable performance at the Super Bowl, but who knows? Ha! I kill me.
