    Football: Bo Jackson/Randall Cunningham
    Basketball: Michael Jordan
    Hockey: Mario Lemieux

    Soccer: Huh? Later, Pele

    Golf: Ben Hogan (that white cap looked just right for golf)

    Golf: Jack Nicklaus
    Racing: Mark Donahue, Mario Andretti, Rick Ferkel (a great sprint car driver / our local hero)

    I was from small town Ohio.....that's about the only sports I knew existed...

    I think that A-Rod might have been pretty good as a kid, but as he got older he bacame more of an asshole.

    Baseball: Aaron to begin with, but Mike Schmidt had a greater influence
    Football: Fran Tarkenton
    Basketball: Didn't really pay attention to bkb until high school. Then it was Dominique Wilkins
    Tennis: Jimmy Connors
    Golf: Jack
    The other sports weren't really in my consciousness until I got to college.

    The holy triumvirate:

    Seaver, Namath and Dr. J.

    No one else was ever close.

    Had a NY fixation as a kid in flyover country. Fortunately, I grew out of it....

    Tucker was the face of The Giants in that era.
    Giant Tackle Steve Wright wrote a very funny book - "I'd Rather Be Wright" - He talked about The Giants and their fans always saying "Tucker did this and Tucker did that ' but Wright never saw him doing anything on the field.

    I'm in my mid-20s, so some of these are going to seem like kids to some of you.

    Baseball: Dave Justice
    Football: Dan Marino
    Basketball: Jamal Mashburn/Penny Hardaway
    Hockey: Never had a favorite. Just liked the game.
    Soccer: Only started paying attention in '02 WC.
    Tennis: Pete
    Boxing: Ali (He was long gone by the time I grew up, but I used to love watching his old fights with my dad)
    Golf: Payne Stewart, then Tiger.
