Who is the greatest print journalist working?

Doubly agree on Posnanski and Smith. There may not be any sports journalists that work as hard as those two. (Pos throws out thoughtful 10,000-word pieces like he can just bought them at Wal-Mart.)

I read an excerpt of "Unbroken" in Runner's World, about Louie and the Olympic Trials and then the 1936 Games. I have two books stacked up (for way too long) but need to read this one, too...

I love "Unbroken." So good. It will not disappoint. Definitely on my best book list for 2011, despite the fact the year just started.

I have to think David Maraniss qualifies, and I have to put him in there.

Daulerio? I'm not saying he's not, PR, but you put him in there?

Don't ask me to choose between Albom and Lupica. It's not possible.

My list starts and ends with The New Yorker:

    Anderson/ Wright / Hersh.

Nothing I won't read that they have written. You have to invest a lot of time into their work but it is well worth it.

Anderson's work fascinates me. Whatever country he has written about you come away with a complete picture of what is going on. His ability to go to some very dangerous places and talk to dangerous people is stunning.

Also going to add Michael Lewis to list as my "non" New Yorker entry.
