    Dorsett probably deserves a mention.

Haven't heard many receivers mentioned. Do Moss's Marshall years put him in the discussion?

    And, of course...Tony Mandarich.

If that's the case, Gordie Lockbaum.

I loved watching Ron Dayne run when he was at Wisconsin. I know a lot of that had to do with his line, but he always seems to crush everyone in front of him.

Red Grange is the best player ever.

Charles Woodson is the best player I've seen in person.

Reggie Bush is the best person I've seen on TV.

Bo had his head handed to him by Jerry Gray and Texas and was held in check by Texas AandM in the Cotton Bowl.
He does not belong in this discussion.

that's nice. I loved watching Rockey Ismael at ND.....but I wouldn't mention him on a thread about the best college football players ever.

Uhh, Lockbaum was a very good offensive player and an OK defensive player in Div. I-AA.

Nagurski, Baugh and Butkus were two-way All-Americans for Div. I national title contenders.

Not that it really matters in regards to college football, but Nagurski, Baugh and Butkus became slam-dunk NFL Hall of Famers; Lockbaum never made a roster.

I wish. San Diego State never went to the Holiday Bowl in the Faulk era. Their only bowl appearance during his time there was the 1991 Freedom Bowl.

My Aztecs could have gone to the Holiday Bowl that year had they not blown a 28-point third-quarter lead to BYU. Ugh!!
