I think Georgia can give Alabama a good game in the SEC Championship. Alabama will be favored, but a Georgia upset wouldn't shock me. I think Georgia is better than Texas A&M and A&M beat Alabama on its home field.

As much as I despise Chip Kelly, I have a hard time seeing Oregon losing before the bowls. Stanford doesn't have the speed to keep up. UCLA might in a possible Pac-12 title game, but doubtful.

As the weeks go by, a Notre Dame win at USC seems more of a distinct possibility. So maybe an Oregon vs. Notre Dame title game? The most tradition-rich program vs. the flashy upstarts from the sneaker factory. Go Irish!

 

So Oregon and Kansas State should go ahead and lose just so everyone will get a game with high ratings?

 

Not at all. But there's a narrative out there that "everyone" wants new blood playing for the championship, and "everyone" wants offensive shootouts. That's not really accurate.

 

Well, truth be told, if I'm a BCS or TV exec I want the matchup with the highest potential for ratings, even if it's Kansas State or Appalachia State. Money money money money!

 

Yes. The Irish shut down Oklahoma on the road, and I think Oklahoma is a better team that USC.
