Hey, worked for me Friday....though the damn Reds didn't give him any run support. And he wasn't nearly as awful in the NL at the end of last year as he was for the Twins.

    But yeah, he's shaky.

My vote goes for Reyes, too. It's not just the great speed. He can put a charge into one, too.

    Bud Smith, on the mound.

I admit my Mets bias, but it's Reyes. The guy is exciting at bat, on base, in the field and hell, even in the dugout. I don't see anyone on that list who matches his combination of talent, flair and pure joy.

Talk about damning with faint praise.....

I would go with Reyes (and not just because he's on my fantasy team), tho it could be Zumaya if he ever becomes the closer.

There are a lot of good players on this list, but there are a few that I'm not so sure should be included.

Manny Ramirez: Being a stupid lout on the field and the base paths does not
qualify as being exciting. Plus, Papi gets more clutch hits.
Scott Kazmir: Has trouble staying healthy, plays for Tampa Bay and I can't
recall him having one of his pitches being classified as being one
of the three best of it's kind in the Majors.
Vernon Wells: Has yet to put together back-to-back seasons like last year and
can anyone think of a definitive Vernon Wells moment?

EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm not saying these players aren't good. I just think that these players don't generate a buzz or level of excitement like other players.

OK, I under-rated just how good of a fielder he is, but on offense, he puts me to sleep.

It was from short right field. A lot of major leaguers can make that play, but since it happened by a media-created phenom it became the greatest throw in the history of baseball.

I guess breaking the MLB record for hits in a season doesn't mean much any more; and that throw was onions.

It was a nice throw, but there have been plenty of right fielders over the years that could have done it as well.

Kinda like Derek Jeter diving into the stands to catch a routine foul pop?

The novelty of his unorthodox swing has worn off on me. Yeah, he has incredible hand-eye co-ordination, but try to tell me that Reyes doesn't bring more enthusiasm or electricity to the plate. The hits record is great, and I'm not taking that away from him in the least bit, but you'd like to see a few more extra-base hits with that, and not necessarily home runs.

With Ichiro, it's almost money in the bank that if he gets a hit, it's a single. With his speed, he should always be in the top five in triples. On the other hand, Reyes can beat out a bunt, launch a home run, or high-tail it for 270 ft. for a triple, slide head first and come up with that shit-eatin' grin on his face. Damn, I wish he was on the Yankees.
