Who invented volleyball shorts?

All kidding aside, I'd imagine those tight, tight shorts are a breeding ground for yeast infections.

Girlfriend's team, throughout high school, never wore anything under the shorts.

Just think about that a little bit.

Oh, and as soon as I saw this thread, my answer was God. Too bad, it was already taken.

There is one team around here that wears a super-adhesive brand of shorts that showed everything. I mean, there was no guesswork. It was so evident in some photos that we could've been sued for harrassment. Strangely, the photos the next day were all from the waist up. The only silver lining is that the team sucks and we cover them once year, if at all.

Sometime in the very recent past, the poobahs in Illinois deemed undergarments as a necessary part of the uniform.

    Are they, um, gonna inspect?

    Common sense shouldn't be legislated.

  6. As bad as it is to cover it and try not to feel like a dirty old man, I think covering swimming is worse (or better, if you really are a dirty old man).

Well, some girls, if they've got it, don't mind flaunting it. ::)

But most (I've ever talked to -- i've had sisters and GFs who played) feel just a little sheepish diving around in teeny-weeny itsy-bitsy skintight nylon or spandex bikinis. Mostly, they'd rather go with the thigh-length shorts, and not have to wonder when they dive and slide on the floor, whether something rolled up a couple inches, and took their apparel from rated-R to rated-XXX.

And again, some coaches are really adamant about it. It does make ya wonder. ::) ::)

That's absolutely true. Years ago, I covered and shot HS swimming. The team wore black, or navy blue, tank suits. You would be amazed what happens to navy blue spandex when it gets wet and a strobe flash goes off.

    Gymnastics.

    That can be rather revealing.

Those coaches are usually ones who coached or played in college or in semi-pro beach where the bikini-bottoms are deemed "useful."

The thigh-length spandex are much more comfortable. For one season, I wore the bun-huggers and no, I do not have pictures available. :)

Or if you're my predecessors, you could just ask them for their number. My editor told me he's had two SEs here date underage girls at one time. One dated more than one. Asked whether they were fired after he learned of it, editor said no.

They didn't get fired? I mean, that's ridiculous, is nothing sacred in Bumfuckville?

Do coaches make this decision? I was hoping it was a players' choice.
