Jeff Garcia is still drawing a seven-figure paycheck in the NFL, so why the hell shouldn't Jeff George?

    Already cut.

From the ESPN story, it sounds like it just might be a procedural move. If the Raiders have George on the opening day roster, they will owe him his entire salary, even if they cut him later. But if they go with 2 QBs for the first game, then pick up George, they can cut him later with fewer financial penalties.

That makes sense. If not the case, why sign George in the first place?

Omar Jacobs got cut by the Steelers today........

I read a scouting report on Omar that skewered him.

No big surprise, he was caught in a numbers game after the team chose to keep two QBs. Besides, Jacobs -- as did rest of the Steelers' roster -- sucked this preseason.

Was he a junior last year?

And just in case you missed Friday's PTI, Whitlock did take advantage of that time to pimp George.

Cut was a short-term fiscal consideration.

Will they bring him back, after the season starts?

Maybe. From all angles, he's Al's kind of player -- which is a considerable negative,
    in the real NFL world.
