I respectfully disagree with the premise of this thread.
Many of the folks mentioned here are very good or simply good sports editors.
But Arch Ward was a GREAT sports editor.

No. Because I've heard feedback from people at both places.
To be truthful, I have not worked for either. But, that doesn't mean I can't comment based on what people who have worked for them have said.
I've never heard a bad thing about Micco from people who have worked for him, and I've never heard a good thing about Smith from people who have worked for him.

So there's how I arrived at my conclusion. Is that fair?

It was started. The poster who started it no longer exists; nor do his posts.

Yeah, but the feds are clearing out Gitmo, so he may be back. Who knows?

    A little smarmy, actually.

Same reason why everyone can expect a quick lockdown on any thread about the worst sports editor, or worst reporter, etc. It's just an opportunity for anonymous posters to take potshots at people.

  6. Do you really think that would happen on here?

    shotglass-
    A noble thought.
But, this is a damn message board and giving opinion (and, get this, anonymously) is sort of the premise.
