Now if we can get him back here...he can bring Kriegel with him.

I liked the Thompson part. The intro was pure Whitlock.

So, he stuck the landing? Is that what you're saying? I think it is.

    Damn. Nice piece.

Cross Whitlock off the Thompson's Christmas-card list this year.

I thought BBQ sauce was in his blood... :) (Sorry brother, couldn't pass it up)

I for one, just hope Whitlock is back in time for the next season of The Wire.

I like the column, but how long was Whitlock at AOL? Like 6 months? Seems that way. Although looking at AOL's sports site I can't blame him for leaving (although wondering why he'd go there). Let's see ... he has SportsLine, SI.com and Yahoo left on his tour ... :)

I don't know if he stuck his landing, but he has written a piece that will stick in some craws.

Hopefully the criticism here--why do I think it's coming?--will lay off the personal stuff. If my skills were judged on the size of my nose, I'd have Frank Deford and Dan Jenkins in my rear view mirror now. If you like 'em big, that is.

    Thanks for the headsup, 21.

He grabbed my attention and kept it. Great start for Whitlock.

I'm sorry. I apologize for taking the summer off.

We've missed Real Talk, the column I started over at America Online a year ago, the column that I'm now bringing to a new home here at FOXSports.com, the column that is a mix of sports, entertainment, culture and unbiased, agenda-less opinions.

    I love this.

Is he using the royal "we" in the second graph? I wouldn't think so, because in the first graph he uses "I."

Either he means we, as in all of us, missed Real Talk, or he switched from first person singular to the royal "we" from one graph to the next. Either way, you've got to appreciate the place of importance he ascribes to himself.

And yeah, it's not as much fun here without him.

Someone is still angry with Vivien Stringer.
